Support the Benjamin Stephenson House

What your donation does

The 1820 Col. Benjamin Stephenson House is a Federal style historic home. We provide programs for children and adults. Your donation supports continued events for children such as:  Mrs. Lucy's Academy for Young Ladies, Militia Camp, Pioneer Camp, and Wilderness Camp. Various adult workshops include, tatting, turban tying, knitting, cooking in the kitchen, and tea etiquette.

In addition to camps and workshops, your donation funds supplies needed for hands-on school tours and adult group tours. We provide several free events throughout the year. These events are supported by generous donations. Our yearly free events include but not limited to: Trades Day, Easter Egg Hunt,  Movies on the Lawn, and hands-on history demonstration days.

With the Benjamin Stephenson House celebrating its 200th anniversary in 2020-2021, the costs of maintaining an older home continues to grow. Donations provide regular maintenance for the ongoing upkeep of the historic house.

Finally, donations give us the means to continue our research of the Stephenson family and the indentured servants that the family owned. Research costs are annual, and we strive to provide the most accurate information about the family and servants. Our staff continually provides new information to visitors and students about the history of the family, servants, and historic site.

We appreciate your donation given to help us continue our daily operations, programs, research, and upkeep of the house.
