A Bicentennial Heritage Workshop: A Theorem Reticule

Cost: $65 per student. Preregistration required.

Theorem painting (stenciling on velvet) was a popular way of adding beauty to everyday objects in the past. Ladies of the early 19th century often carried small hand bags/purses called reticules to hold daily necessities. Join us in this two-session workshop to create a lovely theorem painted velvet reticule. Register soon as space is limited to 10 students. All supplies will be provided. Participants are welcome to bring their own sewing items (needles, scissor, etc) but we will have plenty of supplies available.

SESSION 1 - February 16. Painting the Theorem. In this session, participants  paint a theorem on cream-colored velvet. If time allows prep will begin on the reticule.

SESSION 2 - February 23. Sewing the Reticule. The final session allows students to hand sew the reticule using the theorem painted in Session 1.

Tickets available for purchase here.

Please Note: There are no hard copy tickets for this workshop. Your paid receipt is your ticket.
